The Alder is the sofa we build most, and the one we argue about most. The frame is kiln-dried white oak, eight-way hand-tied, with a seat deep enough to fall asleep in but firm enough to get out of. Cushions are wrapped in down over a high-resilience core, so they hold their shape between fluffings.

Care
Vacuum weekly with a brush head. Slipcovers are machine washable cold; line dry and put them back on slightly damp for the best fit.
